Sorry I am not in today and you didn’t get enough notice to stay home.  Here is the work for today.

We are about to start the Stress topic – you can read about it in your text and revision books – it might be good to read the whole chapter, so you know what is involved.  This week I would like you to focus on what we mean by stress and stressors, what causes you stress, how it makes you feel and how you cope with it.

Next week we will look at the stress response in more detail – it is very tricky, so it would be a good thing to read up on before next week p118-119 in the Complete companion p131-135 in Exploring Psychology

So next week you will need to be able to give me a definition of stress and stressors, what ‘fight or flight’ means, what causes you stress, how you feel and how you cope and you should have a vague idea of what the sympathomedullary pathway and pituitary-adrenal system is!!
