Draw your best mascot, name, colour in, give it phrases to say to encourage supporters and say how it will get people to support the Olympics
Research an Olympian Task
This is an individual research task, which will focus on your ability as a self-manager and an independent enquirer.
You need to choose an Olympian to research. They can be past or present, a solo Olympian e.g. javelin or part of a team e.g. rowing (in which case you will need to research their contribution to the team).
Remember, true researching involves you finding relevant information to read, and then selecting the important points to teach others, put in your own words. True research does NOT involve copy & paste.
Things you cold include:
- A biography style – background into the person – past and current details into them e.g. name, age, where they live etc
- What got them into the sport?
- How often do they train?
- Have they won any medals?
- Have they beaten any personal or world records?
- Who is their biggest competitor?
- What are their ambitions or the future?
- Interesting or unusual facts about them or their sport
You have two lessons to complete this and will be presenting the information to your classmates in the third lesson in the form of an interview (think in the style of the game 20 questions).
Good luck, happy researching.
