AS level Exam
Here at the Grange, we pride ourselves at our community cohesion. We have extended this to Family Learning, bringing families together while learning a new skill.
Families of students in years 7 – 9 were offered the chance to take part in a ‘Glaze and Shine’ workshop, where they had the chance to paint pottery of their choice, which is then fired and can be used as everyday ceramics.
The sessions will ran on Saturday 9th July, 16th July and the 23th July from 9am until 12pm, in the Art Block. It was a brilliant creative way to have fun and you have a piece of usable art to show for it!
Upon their arrival there was a choice of pottery to paint, such as mugs, plates and money boxes and families were given full tuition on how to paint using glazes.
The sessions were a great success, as you can see from the photos below. The feedback from evaluations were that parents and children really enjoyed learning with each other, away from everyday distractions all focused on the same project where they can communicate and help each other.
